The Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic always works to ensure your health. Many of the procedures that are in place for the Corona-virus are standard for our clinic’s cleanliness. However, we have stepped up our preparedness and ask you to partner with us in helping to prevent further outbreak.
What we are doing
Feeling unwell or traveled outside of Canada (Please note our clinic is closed until April 13 as per instructions from Provincial Medical Authorities)
When we re-open
When our clinic re-opens, please do not come to the clinic if you are feeling ill, have a cough, fever or have travelled outside Canada in the last 14 days.
When we re-open, we have suspended our 24-hour cancellation policy for illness, until this outbreak risk has lessened. We also ask that you still let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel. A cancellation fee will apply if we are not notified before your appointment.
Telehealth and video Remote sessions are available now!
If you are unable to come to the clinic and need advice or review of your exercises, we are instituting the use of Zoom meeting technology. If you are unsure of whether this format would be beneficial for you, we recommend you contact your therapist directly prior to setting up the appointment
Prior to setting up a session you will need to have this app on your computer. If you do not require a visual aspect to your treatment we can provide a teleconference. Standard treatment charges apply.
Home visits available, once the Covid risk has diminished
We can provide in home sessions if you are unable to come to the clinic and need direct treatment or closer supervision of your exercises. Please note that an additional fee will apply to allow for travel time and that there will be delays in setting up appointments as each therapist’s timing to provide out of clinic appointments will need to be coordinated.
When you are at the clinic you will be put in our private treatment room as soon as possible. This will minimize the time spent in the waiting room. We have also spread out our reception area chairs.
With the short supply of Purell-type products, you may find different hand sanitizers in our clinic. This is because our therapists already use a medical grade of hand sanitizer and this will be available to you when the Purell is unavailable. If this runs out you will be asked to wash your hands with soap and water when you enter the clinic.
Cleanliness. Each treatment table is cleaned with a disinfectant after every visit. We have increased paper coverage on tables and ask you to make sure that the pillow you are on is always covered with paper.
- Staff illness. All staff have been informed to stay home if they feel ill. We have instituted a 14-day quarantine for staff who return from travel outside of Canada. Fortunately, at this time no-one is scheduled to leave Canada.
- Building cleanliness. Our landlord, Canderel, stepped up the cleaning in the building a few weeks ago. We applaud them for their pro-active approach in keeping all their tenants and businesses healthy.
