senior woman exercise therabandAs with most things in life it is best to be prepared. If you were to run a marathon you would probably follow a training plan to prepare your body for the physical challenge. Well surgery, chemo and radiation treatments are not dissimilar to preparing for a sporting event – preparation makes all the difference. In fact prehabilitation can help improve your post-cancer treatment success!

Our Registered Kinesiologists work with you before, during and after your oncology (cancer) treatment to help manage side effects, promote recovery and reduce fatigue, Therapeutic fitness takes into account the effect your condition and/or treatment has on your physical goals as well as your ability to exercise. We work with your oncology team to determine the appropriate level for your rehabilitation.

Who will benefit?

Exercise is a powerful adjunct in helping your recovery from cancer and in the long-term prevention of recurrence. A therapeutic fitness program can be beneficial prior to treatment (prehabiliation to prepare for treatment), during chemotherapy and/or radiation, as well as following surgery.
